Reflections in BlaQ

Reflections in BlaQ (Work in Progress)

Reflections in BlaQ is a multidisciplinary project that unearths the voice of Jesse Harris, a Black transfemme artist who interviewed by filmmaker Marlon Riggs and featured in Riggs' seminal documentary Tongues Untied (1989). The project is based on my critical and creative engagements with artist and scholar Marlon Riggs' archive at Stanford University.

Works-in-progress performances  have been presented at  The 8th Floor for the Voices = Survival exhibition organized by Visual AIDS and the Center for African American Poetry and Poetics at the University of Pittsburgh.
